Speech Path and Pastures has been a blessing for my 6 year old son from day one. Mrs. Nikki's personality will immediately set any parent's nervousness at ease with her warm and honest personality. She allows you to stay for the session if you would like and she is always so patient and kind with my son. Her passion for helping children is evident in every session. My son can be a handful and she has never once made me feel that he was anything but a sweet, smart and engaging child that just needed a little direction. She customized her teaching technique using different methods to focus on areas he personally needed improvement in such as his letter recognition, letter blending, sound recognition, early reading, while even accommodating his ADHD. She truly understood my child and his needs. She was able to use engaged play which he needed to improve his confidence and speech while removing the barriers that normal therapy settings can have. Her approach is very unique in a refreshing safe outdoor environment using it to help them relax, stay focused and motivated while also having fun. A few methods I have witnesses incorporated walking around the yard, climbing jungle gyms, race car letter games, books, note cards, and even baby goat helpers. She will always debrief you on progress and give you some "word play" or "homework" that you can work on at home to reinforce what they are learning in therapy. Overall my experience has been a wonderful one to say the least. My son used to hate school and reading. Now he loves it and I can not thank Mrs. Nikki enough for this beautiful gift.
